What RoadPrep is

A free study aid for Alberta's Class 5 / 7 knowledge test and road test. Content is grounded in the official Alberta Driver's Guide (sign graphics reproduced under the Open Government Licence – Alberta), but RoadPrep is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Alberta.

No guarantee

Readiness scores are estimates from your own practice, and modeled road-test deductions are approximations (Alberta does not publish exact per-error points). RoadPrep does not guarantee you will pass any test, and it is not driving instruction — always defer to the current official guide, signage and your examiner.

Your account

Use RoadPrep for personal study. Don't abuse the service (bulk scraping, attacking the API, or misusing the AI coach). The service is provided as-is, free of charge, and may change or pause without notice.

Paying for extra AI coaching

Studying is free and stays free — the whole question bank, sign practice, explanations, road-test scoring and offline use. If you are learning to drive, the one thing you can pay for is extra AI-coach follow-ups beyond the daily free allowance. It is a single one-time payment, not a subscription, and you are never charged anything recurring.

The unlock raises how many follow-ups you can ask per day. It does not remove the limit entirely — the cap exists because each follow-up costs real money to answer — and it does not unlock any study content, because none of it was ever locked.

Driving instructors and driving schools are the exception, and only for things learners never touch. An instructor can pay monthly for a seat that lets them see the progress a learner has chosen to share with them, and a school can pay monthly to be featured in the directory, which includes one instructor seat. Featured placement is only sold in cities with enough schools for it to make a difference. Both are ordinary recurring charges and both can be cancelled at any time. Neither is ever billed to a learner, neither affects a learner's own access to their study data, and no learner is asked to pay for one on anyone's behalf.

Payment is taken by Stripe. If you want a refund, ask, and the unlock ends when the refund is processed. A charged-back payment ends it too. Nothing you have studied is affected either way.

Sharing with an instructor

You can choose to let a driving instructor see how your practice is going by entering their code. It is your choice to start and yours to stop, at any time and without explanation.

If you are an instructor: a student's code-holder access exists only while that student allows it, you may not ask us for a student list or for access to anyone who has not shared with you, and you may not use what you see for anything other than teaching that student.
